Ice Mtn
by ILOVEALTA
Ice Mtn
Good Uphill capacity,
Lots of ice,
Lots of Reckless Skiers,
Lots of people.
Drive north another hour and do some real skiing at ELK.
- Pros: High Speed Lifts, Nice People
- Cons: ICE, Reckless Skiers that do what they want on the Mtn, ICE, Did I mention ICE?
With 30 trails and eight lifts, skiers at this Poconos ski resort spend their time on the slopes--not in line.

The Scene
Between runs, head to the mountain's Summit Lodge or Valley Lodge, where skiers will find cocktail lounges and three full-service cafeterias. With the area's extensive snowmaking capabilities and all slopes equipped with lights for night skiing, there is no reason to head home when the sun sets. Snow-tubing is an alternative to skiing and boarding.
The Slopes
Beginner and intermediate skiers should check out the mile-long trail, Paradise, for some uninterrupted fun. More advanced skiers should head to the resort's 5,000-foot-long, double black diamond trail, appropriately named Challenge, or head to Razor's Edge, a 3,000-foot-long expert trail. There also are two terrain parks and a halfpipe exclusively for snowboarders--although they also are welcome on all trails.
