Amazing Customer Service
by missyb311 at Citysearch
I have been shopping at Brown Daub for a few weeks now. Specifically a salesman named Robert. The customer service here is outstanding. Even though I am still in the process of purchasing my vehical, Robert has been more then helpful throughout the whole experience. He is one of the only salesman that I have met that has the right approach and the right attitude to sell cars. His knowledge is outstanding, his personality is fantastic, and he doesn't just tell you what you want to hear or pressure you into buying something. I highly recommend this dealership and I highly recommend Robert! Thank you for a great car shopping experience!!!
- Pros: Customer service, knowledgable staff

What A JOKE!!!!!!!

I bought a 2007 Jeep Grand Jerokee in July of 07. The other day we were going somewhere and not far from my house the car started to buck, so we drove it home. I dropped it off on Sunday night and when I was putting my key in the night deposit slot the garage door started to open. I was petrified. There my husband and I stood in the dark with the garage door open. everyone who had dropped off keys were laying right there. We immediately called 911 and waited for the cop to come. Tghe next morning when I called them to tell them why my car was there, I told Kevin what had happened the previous night. He laughed. Not even a Thank you for calling the cops. Anyway, when I went to pick up my car the next day, I told the Service Manager who acted like I was bothering him. Was it a bother for me to call the cops the night before and wait for them....anyway, I had my oil changed, air filter changed, wiper blades changed and front brake pads put on in addition to having my electronic shift module replaced which cost me 556.00. All total my bill was 984.53.... The kicker, when I got home I received in the mail cupons for a brake job and oil change and air filter change. I called to ask if I could get some money back and the answer was NO..... I will NEVER go there again. How do I know the garage door won't open some other time and the person it happens to isn't as honest. Oh and if they didn't believe me they could have called the police and 911. I gave my name when I called. By the way, Kevin never told the Service Manager.
- Cons: Vehicles are not safe...Just to mention one thing.

I bought 4 out of my 5 cars from Brown Daub. ( over 100k between them all)
We never had a problem with Brown Daub until recent.
3 years ago We went to Youngs for inspection. They said the ball joints had to be replaced. We spent the $1000 to replace upper and lower both sides. The following year at Brown Daub during inspection they said the ball joints had to be replaced. Now, wait a minute. They were replaced at Youngs ( I know they were). Less then 8000 miles earlier. They insisted the ball joints needed to be replaced. If I didn?t they would have to keep my car. ( THEY WOULD HAVE TO KEEP MY CAR)I knew I was being scammed.
Being a fool, I said go ahead. Replace them. They said they did. I inspected the joints and they weren?t touched.
I fought with BrownDaub for some time about it and they insisted they were replaced.
This year, Once again, at a mom and pop garage they said the ball joints had to be placed.
Who?s lying here? Youngs? Brown Daub? Or this small time garage. My bet is on Brown Daub.
In the past 3 years I put 15k on my car. Ball joints are suppose to last 50k not 8k or less.
Did Youngs replace the ball joints with old?
Did Brown daub do the same?
Bad luck? A Scam? Or intentional?
My pick is Intentional.
- Pros: Parking
- Cons: Misleading
Been a customer for over 30 years........

I've been a customer of Brown Daub for over 30 years. I have had the same sales person for the last 10 of those years. I have had nothing but positive experiences from them. They have a large inventory and have never forgotten about me after the sale.
I have also referred many friends and family members. Some of those people worked with my sales person, others worked with a different one. I have always had positive feedback from them no matter what.
The ownership and management are top notch and always available. This is not a Mega store or chain owned operation. One time they let me take a vehicle before I actually purchased it to surprise my wife, good thing too, because she wanted a different color! They're very easy to work with and I will always be a Brown Daub customer for life!
- Pros: Large inventory, polite staff, staff and management have been around for years
- Cons: Too many Jeeps to choose from! Weedend service hours/Friday nights could be longer
Shady Salesmen!

We dealt with Bruce Layton, a pushy and inconsiderate man.
My car broke down, so I was in a hurry to purchase a car. He knew this
and tried to play on that.
I was trading in a car on a 2007 vehicle, with very low miles on it. I drove the 07 over the weekend and was going back during the week to finalize paperwork. The heat in the new car was blowing cold air, so we decided we didn't want a practically brand new car that already had problems! Plus my mom was having surgery two days later and I did not have time to go back and forth to this dealer. Mr. Layton continually tried to force the car on us. I told him over and over why we didn?t want it. He didn?t want to hear what we had to say and would just talk over me.
Here?s the kicker?Bruce towed my car, even though I told them I wasn't sure what we were going to do about the sale. They told me they were towing it to their dealership, which made sense because my plate was still on the trade and all my belongs were inside my car ? and I was suppose to clean my trade in, after we finalized all the paperwork.
Once we said we were not taking the new car, Bruce said they wholesaled it out already and he wasn't sure if he could get my car back. They towed it to their wholesaler, when the car wasn't even theirs!!
They didn't even have the title to my car, because the transaction was CANCELLED by us! But they were trying to keep us in the deal and were doing anything they could to make it hard for us to get out of it. Bruce tried to make me pay for the towing charges of almost $300!!
To make this long story short, I contacted his manager, Mr. Kirby and he told me I was not responsible for the towing and we could go get out deposit back that day. Even he said that was odd for Mr. Layton to do!
Mr. Layton will do anything for a sale and we will never go to this dealership
again, because of his worth ethic.
- Pros: None!
- Cons: Pushy, inconsiderate, liars, thieves!
