The best. I have been going there for 9 years and have never had a problem. The best all around.

The best.!!! I have never had a problem. Courteous staff!! Prices are right in line with other downtown salons. I have had waxes, foils, cuts, color, nails, massages and spray tans. Never a complaint from me. There is a huge lot for parking. They stamp your ticket so you don't pay to park. Everyone is just so friendly and soooo obliging.

  • Pros: Parking garage

Great Place!!

I used American Hairlines for my wedding. They did my hair, my bridesmaids hair, my mom's hair and my mom in law's hair. We also had them do our makeup. I couldn't have asked for a better stylist or makeup artist. All of our hair looked stunning and the makeup was done in a way that it brought out everyone's natural highlights without looking like you have a ton of makeup caked on. it didn't even rub off onto my husbands tux. I WOULD USE THEM AGAIN AND AGAIN!!! They are the absolute best. Definitely try them out. They are always willing to do your hair the way you want.

  • Pros: Friendly, great atmosphere, great people,

One word..Awful!

by maureen79 at Citysearch

Awful experience! This salon did my hair for my wedding and did a terrible job, my bridesmaids had to fix my hair after we left because they made me look like a pageant contestant circa 1980. My two bridesmaid's hair styles were fine, however my mother was in tears at the salon because the "stylist" was rude and rushed her. I would not recommend this salon to anyone. The stylists are rude and condescending.

I left looking like I needed a haircut!

by silvermaille at Citysearch

I was new in town and went to American Hairlines because I thought it was the "premier" salon in town and for a good salon the prices were good. The woman who cut my hair acted like she was afraid to cut it. There was little conversation as she seemed to be focusing on cutting my hair. I thought it was strange the way she was cutting it. She was cutting diagonal pieces all over as I've seen other stylists texture my bangs. When I said I had thought of trimming it myself she told me if I cut it the way she was that I couldn't mess it up. She ended up taking little or no length off and I left looking like I needed a haircut. Also, for as big as that place is, I would think they would have a place to wax eyebrows rather than sit me at the end of a line of sinks with my neck over the sink and my feet sticking out for everyone to pass around them. I was quite disappointed and never went back.

  • Pros: Nice, open, trendy space
  • Cons: Poor haircut, not sensitive to time, parking

Love It! Best Service!

I really love going to this salon - very clean and the staff are always friendly! Angel is "my man" - I love the way he does my hair. I have been going to American Hairlines for only about 1 1/2 years - when I was having a baby they even opened on Sunday so that I could look my best for my baby shower! Great Service - time and time again!

  • Pros: Very hip salon - very clean! Friendly staff!

NYC-Style Salon with Bethlehem Prices! :-)

by doriantb at Citysearch

I went to American Hairlines on a friends recommendation. Stylist Marie gave me the best haircut and nicest service that I've gotten since moving to PA from NYC in 2001! Marie knew exactly how to make my curly hair look its best, she & the staff were charming and helpful, and she worked quickly without making me feel rushed. The atmosphere is hip yet welcoming, and I loved the salon's eclectic yet elegant decor: flowers and chandeliers mixed with modern art amid the building's industrial design. I felt like I was back in my favorite NYC salon -- a high compliment! :-) True, AHs haircuts cost more than in most PA salons I've been to (still cheaper than NYC, though :-), but considering the excellent haircut, fine service, and personable staff, I got my money's worth, and I'll happily return to AH next time my hair needs a trim!

  • Pros: Gorgeous haircuts, Pleasant staff, Cool atmosphere
  • Cons: Pricey (but worth it)

Disrespectful of Time

by nancy_benson at Citysearch

I had several poor experiences, the last being almost unimaginable. My appointment was at 1:30. At 1:45 my stylist was still cutting another client; I confirmed that my appointment was at 1:30. As I am considerate of others' time, I had skipped lunch so I wouldn't be late. I asked how much longer and was told 10 minutes; I said I would be back in 10 minutes, ran out, wolfed down half a wrap, and returned in exactly 10 minutes. I was shocked to see my stylist with another client in her chair, cutting his hair! How incredibly disrespectful! I wrote the owner and never heard from him! Another bad experience 2 months before - I had highlights put in, got home, could barely see them, so had to return and spend another 2 hours to get them! I'm moving on!!
