My friends and I go as much as we can. Bring in our own liquor, food, and watch movies under the stars. Sooo awesome. The cemetery thing at first was a little creepy, but you don't get all spooked out here...they have cool tiki tourches that light your path, a dj that spins while you eat... Movies are the best...You have to go with the right crowd...If they're boring, then so are you...hahaha... Well, we love it....$10.00 for a great movie sounded by friends and my honey...anytime.

Pros: Unique...nothing like it anywhere else...

Cons: the potty's...but atleast there is somewhere to go...

The movies played here are actually quite charming. Let me tell you, I'm scared of scarry things. The girl no one should take to a scary movie scared, but this cemetary had a good vibe. It was a well organized event and there's great security. Parking may be some trouble, but all in all, a pleasant experiance.

There was a time when families would get together to converge at the grave site and respect their dead, cleaning off the gravestones. This is a time gone by, but cemeteries are a wonderful place to visit, Hollywood Forever is no exception. Besides the celebrity attraction, the monuments for lay folk are impressive as well. The Fairbanks pond, the Johnny Ramone monument are all wonderful attractions. Usually the days are pleasant and comfortable. Make sure to check out the asian burial section, beautiful statues of buddha abound there. One word of warning, on my last trip, there is a mausoleum in the center of a lake that has one bridge connecting. I was trapped on that island by a very large goose that nests near by. Every time I would approach he would peck at me, and I didn't want to attack him to make him go away. I had to wait for the security guard to come and get his attention before I could actually make a running leap over the goose. Not fun. The only negative aspect to an otherwise fine day. In addition, at night during the warmer months, Hollywood Forever will play older films on the walls and it's a great time. Check it out.

If you've ever wondered...where exactly Mel Blanc is buried, then this place is your answer. There is more Hollywood history buried in this cemetery than all of the rest of So Cal. If you're an Angeleno, it's worth a drive through on a quiet Sunday afternoon when you're done with your latte and newspaper. Bring the Hollywood and movie buffs for sure. But don't bring the kiddies. They'll never comprehend the importance of legends like Douglas Fairbanks, Victor Fleming, and Rudolph Valentino. However, there's always a huge Day of the Dead celebration that the kids might enjoy.

Pros: free, well kept

The best place for a walk. I love the creepy lake and all the tuff tombs. I ALWAYS visit the Jayne Mansfield Memorial and have been trying to find Dee Dee Ramone's grave.
