WONDERFUL PLACE FOR A WEDDING!!!
by JenandDerek at Citysearch
I initially felt that things started out a little slow with The Meadows staff after making our deposit, but as an anxious bride, I just needed to chill. The Meadows staff handle things at their pace, as per their policies and procedures and things got done just fine, so... Bridzilla and Groomzilla's RELAX!!! The Meadows staff will handle everything for you, you just need to make sure you take up what you need them to have the day or 2 days before and let them know exactly what you want, don't expect them to be mind-readers. Yes, they do this everyday but every wedding is different.
My husband and I got married at The Meadows in Sept. 2008 and everything was wonderful. Everything went off without a hitch and we were so pleased with the staff, as were our guests. Our family and friends still rave about how wonderful our wedding was and how it was the nicest they have ever been to; the day was beautiful the venue was perfect (we wed on the deck and our reception was in the Andrucci Room) and they loved the food we picked from there large menu. We couldn't ask for a better more perfect day!
Thank you Russ & Denise, you and your staff are great!

Great wedding day, but a little frustrating up to that point...

To sum up The Meadows to someone looking for a reception hall, I'd have to word it like this: "It's a big-time business, but it's run like a mom-and-pop shop." I say this because up until our wedding day, it was like working with Sal at your local mechanic shop. When you call, they simply answer with "Meadows." Not, "Hi, thank you for calling The Meadows. This is (name), how can I help you?" I could care less, but it still shows how they run the place. Then we try over and over again to get a concrete balance of what we have yet to pay (after our deposit), and not one person could give us an actual figure. It was always, "Somewhere in the $3,000 range." Not helpful when you're trying to budget for a big wedding. Then we have our "two-week meeting," at 7:00 at night. We weren't seen until 7:50, and didn't leave until 9:30. Not a good night at all. Then we have our dinner rehearsal, a very important night, and they double-booked us with another party! We had to rehearse in a totally different area of The Meadows, so we were completely in the dark during the actual wedding. We had to figure out what to do minutes before the ceremony, all because they double-booked.
Now, with all that being said, and with all the worried we had with the wedding since they run the place so old-school, we were thrilled with the actual wedding and reception! That morning, there were three young girls setting up the reception hall, and they did a wonderful job. Our hostess was great, and walked us through every step of the way. They were accommodating to the vendors we hired, and everything was done in a timely manor. Not to mention the fact that the place is gorgeous, and made for some great pictures! The food was just so-so in my opinion, but with the price you pay, you can't expect gourmet. We spent literally half of what it would have cost at a gold club, with the same results. I would recommend this place for sure, just know it's a bit old-school. Great wedding!
- Pros: Landscape, setting, ambience, spacious, fun!
- Cons: Old-school way of running a business, like a mom-and-pop shop.
By far best choice for our wedding...

We just returned from our honeymoon (BTW you MUST go to Cozumel, Mexico) anyway, i just wanted to say that the Meadows in Hellertown is the greatest place for a wedding. I've been to many weddings in my life and our wedding topped them all. The guests loved the food and service. My wife couldn't say enough about the waitress who waited on her hand and foot all night. And the band was amazing! People were coming up to us all night and saying how much fun they were having. Even my little grandmother was out there dancing!! The only bad thing all night was the weather. It was off and on all night but that didn't stop the staff from taking extra special care of us. The owner even offered to put up the sides of his tent (yes, we did have the tent wedding and i REALLY recommend it, the scenery out there is great)... we chose to leave the sides down but just the fact that he was willing to have his staff come out and put up sides in the middle of a busy night shows a lot about his willingness to work with a couple on their special day. I can't say enough about our experience there. We will recommend them to anyone we know who's looking to get married and have an amazing night for VERY reasonable prices. Thank you again people at the meadows!
- Pros: price, staff, FOOD, the house band
- Cons: nothing
a good plan

I just wanted to say an extra thank you especially to your staff for making my daughters wedding a special day.
We were very unsure if there was going to be a reception, but you and your staff came up with a plan that made what seemed like a disaster into a very memorable day. Thank you all again and God bless all of you.

Thanks so much for letting us use the Chelette Room at the Medows. It was great to have wonderful food and a place to eat with everyone where it was peaceful, private, and quiet. Going to restaurants is difficult since every one is over 60. Being in a private room really made the experience even more enjoyable! thanks so much!
- Pros: accomodating

Russell, Denise, and staff,
Thank you for helping to make our day (july 30th) so amazing.
The meadows was the perfect setting for our wedding and celebration. The transportation, hospitality, food and music were all marked with excellence. Our guests still comment on the entertainment.
From our family to yours, we thank you for everything.
Regards,
Chad and Angela
- Pros: Perfect place with lots of photo ops.

I was at the meadows twice last week for 2 different weddings.
I got to see 2 groups of staff members, and can truly say that one was as good as the other.
The staff was so Helpful. The owner must treat them well because they had taken care of
the guests as if they too were well taken care of. It was like every one from the bartender to the last server was an owner with the motivation to make us happy enough to want to come back again and again.
I needed 2 small glasses of wine and they brought me a whole Carafe.
The waitress made the bride feel so special on Saturday. She made sure they were ready,
and told the groomsmen when it was time to get started. Then she perfectly timed the bridal party's procession one bridesmaid at a time. I wish all weddings could go that smoothly. If I owned a banquet hall, I would model my business after this one. Thank you for a wonderful time.
Robert
- Pros: Perfect setting

Fantastic! UAW retirees on July 9 had a great time. What a wonderful spread. I've gotten so many compliments about the food. A few said it was even better than last year's.
All the employees are extraordinary.
