I've never reviewed a restaurant before, but I REALLY need to. This restaurant doesn't seem to need to please the customer, in fact, they seem to want to do everything to get rid of you. It was very, very strange and upsetting. I was with a large party of people and when we weren't all there at the exact minute when the reservation was for, they were yelling and carrying on to everyone that had arrived on time. After ten minutes, they were livid and said that they would cancel our reservation. I have NEVER been at such an unprofessional restaurant like this one. It was unbelievable!! When I went into the restaurant door, I was "greeted" by at least FIVE glaring employees and was told by I believe the owner's daughter, that our reservation would be cancelled. My eighty year old mother who the party was for would have been very disappointed and upset to say the least. These were the rudest people that I have ever seen, they were horrible!! I did hustle my party in despite the glares from the owner and other employees. It is a shame because the food is pretty darn good, but I don't see how I could ever go there again, unfortunately. From the other reviews that I have read, there are people that have had the same miserable experience. It really ruined my dinner that I had planned so hard for. Not to mention that I was called 2 hours prior to our reservation and asked if I could pick from 3 dishes and "pre-order" meals for everyone because they are so busy on Sat. nights. I told them that it was impossible to do at that late date. I felt that if they wanted that they should have told me that when I made the reservation the week prior. My recommendation: STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!
Pros: the food
Cons: the horrible staff

I recently just went here for my mom's birthday. The food was exceptional, the bread was great, but the service was not so great. Our waitress was in a rush to take our orde, annoyed when we asked her what she recommended and what is most ordered. She said everything was pretty much popular and just wanted to jot our orders down. Besides that, we ordered steak, the proper utencils were not given, no A1 sauce was left, so BBQ sauce was brought out instead (However, ketchup did came out with the fries and we didn't need to ask for it!) Our complimentary wine came out after we finished our dinner. We asked for it within a spaced out 20 minute interval. We did bring our own cake and they did bring it out lite and sang happy birthday. That was very sweet, however again the proper utencils were not brought out.. no knife was given and we had to get up and grab it off another table. I have been working in the restaurant business every since my college years and the service was very poor. Our bill was miscalculated and the daughter in the front chased us down in the parking lot because it was miscalculated by 20 dollars. In addition she said she needed to tip 20% because we had a party of 6. I have been working in the restaurant business throughout my college years and have worked in many family restaurants and I understand how it feels when some customers can get rude and picky. In the most appropriate and professional tone, service was very poor and some workers did rub off some attitude. When the owner was informed by us that we felt that service was poor because our drinks came out after our dinner and proper utencils were not given, she replied "well what do you expect? It's a Saturday night." No sorry or anything... That is enough for me to inform others that this place is not recommended
Pros: Good bread
Cons: Poor service, unprofessionalism, talks bad in front of customers in Italian, parking lot is small and inconvenient

I have been going to La Campagnola for lunch for years. The food is absolutely great and the portions are huge. The specials are a great option and are not the typical Italian restaurant standards. The Chicken Frank Sinatra is (stuffed chicken breast with scallops, shrimps, artichokes & more) is one of my favorites. It's always nice to see the family there and helping out running the business. It always puts a smile on our face when the youngest boy (~3 yrs old) brings us our menus! The family atmosphere certainly adds to the charm of the place.
Pros: Great specials, very generous portions, friendly service, family atmosphere
Cons: Accomplishing anything after eating there is impossible (too full)

We have been going to La Campagnola at least twice a month for about eight years since the place opened. We have our favorites (penne with pink vodka, chicken marsala and the salmon) and try other menu options too and have never had a bad meal! Yes...it is family owned and operated and we find it quite endearing. We love to watch the kids grow up and help out at the restaurant. In fact every major family event from 60th birthdays to wedding rehearsal dinners we have there. For people who love to eat out and are pretty picky about quality, experience and value La Campagnola never lets us down. We always try new places and keep coming back when we want to spend our money on something we know won't disappoint. We also love a BYO, you can't go wrong!
Pros: The Food!
Cons: It can get a little loud

I discovered La Campagnola a few years ago and since I don't really live in the area I haven't been there for a while. I kept telling my husband how wonderful the food is and we went there for our anniversary last year. He was hooked! Since we live about 30 minutes away we really only get there on special occasions. You get a lot of food for a reasonable price and the rolls are awesome! They are my husband's favorite in fact last night he ate 10!!!! I would recommend this place to anyone who loves italian.
Pros: Great Food, Decent Prices, great atmosphere
Cons: Far from our house

I live less than a mile from this restaurant, and I am of 100 % italian heritage and i know good italian food,i've been to La Campagnola about 6 times, the food is really good but for my weekly Italian fix I go across the street to Palermos because La Campagnola is loud, with a rude owner who uses her restauraunt in a totally unprofessional way,it's like eating in some ones living room with all the family children running around playing and and chasing each other,i guess the staff keeps changing because they dont like the atmosphere either.
Pros: Decent food
Cons: Rude uncaring owner, bratty relatives running around.

This is our favorite restaurant. The food is consistently excellent and portions are generous. This family run business business is a gem and we feel like we are at home when we are there. The prices are quite reasonable and it is a BYOB. We have had two surprise birthday parties there, and our guests were all very impressed at the food and service.
Pros: Everything
Cons: Crowded on weekends (but what good restaurant isn't?)

My wife and I ate at La Campagnola last night (12/27) and had a wonderful meal. The waitress informed me that I would probably be eating the rest for lunch the next day and she was right. The portions were huge and the food was fantastic. We were already planning the next visit to the restaurant and who would enjoy going with us. I have read all reviews and some say that they dont care at the restaurant, but when I mentioned the reviews to the waitress she stated she reads them all the time. This shows me that they do care and they take the reviews serious. I highly recommended this restaurant.
Pros: Food, portions, service

I love, love, love this restaurant. I love everything from the huge portion size to the wholesome family atmosphere. Everytime I eat the food at this restaurant I feel like I'm at my grandmothers house eating all over again. My favorite is the the Penne with Crab Meat along with the bread drenched in oil and a garlic concoction. I also love the Gnocci in pink sauce. Yummy!!! I regret that I have moved out of the Lansdale area and go back to order the food as often as possible. In fact, I will go out of my way to order, pick it up and take it home only to have the food last me for the next couple meals. You definitely get your moneys worth. When I call to order I usually get the owner and despite her language barrier she is always pleasant and always gets my order correct. When I pick up my food, my favorite thing (besides the food) is seeing all the family there. I love the family atmosphere. I love seeing all the kids there helping out in the family business. What better way to teach your children responsibility. I look forward to the next time that I get to be in the area and order the most delicious Italian Cuisine I've ever tasted since my grandmother passed away.
Pros: The food, the portion size and the family atmosphere
Cons: They don't deliver

Tony & Rosa LoPiccolo our the proud owners of one the areas finest restaurant- "La Campagnola." Italian for " country girl " pride & hard work flow heavy through the restaurant. Though heavily criticized for their " passionate " attitude, the Lopiccolo's have all the best ingredients to make this restaurant stand out from all the rest. Authentic dishes, generous portions, beautiful ambiance are just some of the spices used. Consistancy is the sign of a champion and for eight years this establishment maintained just that, consistancy. If you haven't tried La Campagnola you are in for a real treat. For the discerning diners that have, we keep coming back for more. Mangia,Mangia!!!!!!!
Pros: the food, the food Oh and the food
Cons: not enough people know about the restaurant
