Good choice for family type meal.
Old fashioned food. Homey taste and feel
Only negative is crowded. Dining room and slightly worn feeling
Long time local restaurant that obviously continues to please new and returning patrons.
We were heading to the Civic Theater around the corner and thought we'd give Henry's a try.
What a treat!
It was early in the evening but reservations would have been wise. Lucky for us they found one booth we could use.
The kitchen is TINY and behind the bar but the 2 cooks use every inch with a deftness thay belies its size. We were in the booth right across from where the waitresses pick up the food (a portion of the bar) and felt like we had a floor show with our meal.
The service was warm and friendly - and very knowledgeable about the dishes.
Our meal rocked!
My swordfish was perfectly flaky and the lump crab with sauce made it an out of body sensation.
Hubby's dish was also amazing and delicious.
I wish we'd had room for dessert - but the ample portions nixed that for another time.
Stupendous Seafood and Service!. Recently came to Henry's for the first time and fell in love with the place! It's a small, quaint restaurant that I imagine fills up pretty quickly on weekends. We went on a Wednesday night when it was not so busy and everyone was very attentive and friendly. Ellie's service was impeccable and the food was out of this world. The crab stuffed mushrooms are some of the best I've ever had. My steak was cooked perfectly and the lobster was heaven. All of the specials sounded fantastic and I can't wait to try more dishes! I will definitley go there again!
Very good seafood, excellent service... we'll be back!. I was looking for a nice, unpretentious restaurant in Allentown to take my Dad to dinner. I live in center city Philly and eat out a lot, so I can be pretty hard on restaurants. Henry's has great food and a casual atmosphere. The staff was friendly and knowledgable of all of the dishes, happy to answer all of my questions. The preparation was creative without being "over-the-top" and the seafood was very fresh. This is the perfect "dinner and a show" spot... catch a movie or play at the beautiful old 19th Street Theater and come here for dinner (pre- or post-show). A perfect evening. We'll be back.
best food in the lehigh valley. this is the place you want to go for a variety of gormet meals at its finest! watch the chef cook your meal right before your eyes! nice pub like atmosphere so there's no nead to dress up. everthing is excellent from the drinks to desserts, as well as a very professional staff. bring a hearty appetite because you get plenty for your money
D. Butsch.
The best restaurant in northeast Pennsylvania, no better food anywhere !!!!
I have tried alot of different items and everything was great. The chef/owner is truely a marvel --- the food is the freshest, and of the best quailty. If this restaurant was in NYC , they would be getting national awards every year. Treat yourself and go there.
