I went to Sandra's back in June, and figured i would give it a shot. A friend of mine got her dress from there and said it was great. This was my first experience trying on dresses, and thought it was going to be very exciting. In the end it was not for me. The girl that i was assigned to was young and inexperienced. I went in there telling her exactly what i wanted. I said i want something simple, not puffy, no lace and no beading. She brought out a dress that had beading all on the top and as puffy as Cinderella's dress. I looked at her and said i asked for something simple with no beading and not puffy. She then told me i should just try it on. Why would i want to try it on when its not what i am looking for. She then brought out another dress, i swear this girl did not listen to a word i said, it was purple with cream lace and had big puffy sleeves, and looked like something from the wedding singer. I told her she was going to give me nightmares. Not once did she ever bring me out a dress that i asked for. Everything she brought out was puffy and covered with beading. At one point i said lets not do anymore satin and try organza. Well the next dress she brought out was satin. This continued for about 6-8 more dresses, until i started to cry, then another woman stepped in from the next room and said maybe you should show her this dress.... this girl was just clueless. It was a horrible experience, what i needed was to pick out dresses from a catalog and have her go and get them. They do not have catalogs there and even though i brought in pictures this girl did not have a clue. This store was not for me, maybe it would have been a better experience if the girl had listened. I got so upset that i left and never went back there. A bit of advice, if you do go there and they are not listening, ask for someone else, or when booking ask for someone with experience.

went to Bridals by Sandra last year for a bridesmaids dress for a friend's wedding and had a good experience. this led me to believe that i should go to Sandra's for my own wedding and bridesmaids -BIG MISTAKE. picking out my dress wasn't a problem--it was everything else that comes after you buy the dress. I made an appointment 12/26/07 for 2/17/08-a Sunday in February because we were supposed to have a quieter atmosphere and more attention. It didn't turn out that way. I received a phone call on 2/12/08 that they were having a Prom Dress show for ALL area high school girls on 2/17/08! i called to try to make an appointment for the same day (as someone else of course) and asked if there were any other appointments-- the girl on the phone said they had one appointment (mine) but they had been trying to reschedule for weeks! during our appointment, the attendant argued with my bridesmaids over what material we should pick, and that mixed fabrics would not 'look right' in the pictures! (Absurd!) If you want any alterations, go to a tailor or drycleaners in town--Sandra's takes at least a month for a simple hemming, and my dress is taking almost 3 months for a hem and bustle. they gave one bridesmaid the runaround about when the dresses would arrive, and then one was too small--turns out the attendant wrote the wrong measurement . her manager then tried to say that the 4 was really a 9, but if my maid had a 39" bust, she would have had a larger dress ordered! Bring a friend with her feet firmly on the ground so she can reel you in and get your attention when things go awry. Get everything in writing (i'm being cheated out of the cap sleeves that were attached to the sample dress i bought), and go elsewhere for alterations--they will very likely be less expensive and have a faster turnaround! go in, look around and get an idea for what you want, then either go elsewhere or proceed with extreme caution!
Pros: selection of dresses ok. ordering time from some manufacturers is faster than online ordering.
Cons: Management thinks you're an idiot. Alteration turnaround 1month or longer; poor reception area (only 2 seats); rude management
