Crap!! Cheats!!.
Dont get fooled by the fake dishes.
If you are an authentic indian who is a foodie, you'd understand.
Last night i ordered for Vegetable Pulav and they mixed some white rice with sambar and served it to me. When I questioned the waiter, he says - "Sir, Everybody else ate the same, and they liked it" What CRAP is this? I understand if you trick an american with this, but not me. I have been cooking Pulav for over 10 years now and I know its made, This restaurant is over priced, people are rude and not a great ambiance at all.
My bad that I visited this place on my way to NJ from NC. Was extremely tired of the drive and was craving for some indian food... but ended up wasting my money and cool...
Would advice all never to visit this place and waste your valuable money on some shitty fake crap food
Not a place to be headed.
Being a North Indian and having tasted food in different parts of India and USA, I would say Nawab is highly overpriced and to top it all the food is mostly fooling the innocent People who love Indian Food or want to try it or someone like me who when bored of home cooking want to eat at a reasonable place which serves good fresh food maintaining the Indian hospitality for which India is known.
Nawab has neither of the above mentioned points and my suggestion to people would be to head to "Spice India" at Whitehall which may not be the best option available but still way better than Nawab at a close affinity. This review comes after having visited Nawab thrice and deciding never to go there again.Oh how can I forget the poor quality meat they serve which stinks bad....
yes run, don't walk run to Nawab.
some of these comments are awful. I have been coming here for years and never once had a bad meal.
But some tips for an exceptional meal:
If you are doing the buffet come early so you can get the fresh food. when 2:30 rolls around they are closing the buffet so if they let you sit they are being nice, but the food is usually limited than. I recommend coming around 1 thats my usual time. Foods great.
At dinner I recommend parking at the meter or a side street over. There is always parking just need to be smart
Dinner is nice and peaceful. Try the dinner for two I love that so much food for such a little price. It comes with everything. 4 course meal for two only 35 dollars
This place is great for dates as well as a family.
helpful notes. Im pretty sure they are closed on mondays and the buffet is only 8 dollars but at lunch you dont need to only have the buffet the menu is another option
hope these tips are useful
oohlala great family restaurant.
Once again I was at Nawab this weekend however i thought it was time to expose my three year son to the delicious food. My son is quite a picky eater but since i ate indian food so much i thought it was time for him to indluge in this wonderful goodness.
He came in crying so i thought it was gonna be a long night. but the waitress comes out with a MANGO shake, now im thinking no way in hell is this gonna shut him up but I couldnt believe my eyes he was sipping away at the delicious drink and wouldnt share.
Than when it came time to order I asked the waitress to just pick for my entire family since we were stuck in such a rut with the same dishes. She chose lamb mango Shrimp Nirgis and garlic nan and chicken tandoor for my son.
We scrapped away at the dished and before we knew it we were stuffed and there was nothing left.
we obviously had to have dessert but there was no room so my husband and I shared honeyballs they were to die for they were nice and warm and were the topping on the cake for our great dinner
AMAZING FOOD AND SERVICE!!!!!!!!!!!!. I have been to many Indian Restaurants and Nawab is by far one of the best indian cuisines I have ever had! PEOPLE, IF YOU WANT TO TRY SOME AUTHENTIC INDIAN CUISINE HEAD DOWN TO NAWAB FOR SOME AMAZING EATERY! Disregard all the negative reviews, they are just trying to hurt the business. For all my visits to the Nawab were exceptional and the food was awesome. I was just down there the other day and the new dishes added to the menu are spectacular... cant wait to take my wife and kids down there soon! MUST TRY THIS PLACE.
DELISH.
I agree below these rude comments are simply to hurt the business.
but guess its not working since they are always busy.
Nawab I love you food. Can't get enough of it. I wish i was indian sometimes.
I love your buffet. I am there every other day
And thank you for your wonderful catering this past week. It was perfect for the wedding hundreds of people were pleased and will be coming to eat there soon enough
Bethelehem's Finest.
Ok i'll be blunt. I am appalled at these bad reviews. I am from the area and i have been to most of the Indian restaurants. as a result, i know that some of the other restaurants have been posting poor reviews to increase their own ratings. Im not accusing anyone im only stating what i know has happened.
That being said i will write my review of this restaurant. i go here at the very least once a week. not only that, but i go to college at lehigh as well, so i am there year round. Not a single time in the hundreds of times i have been there have i had a bad experience, every time it has been amazing.
For lunch, they have a buffet. this is for everyone who wants to try multiple dishes but is shy about trying exotic foods ( i was one of those people). The buffet food is absolutely delicious and it is all you can eat. Not only that, but its only $8.95. for what you get, this is an absolute steal.
Dinner however, is standard restaurant procedure (i.e. menus and waiters) first off, the staff is very friendly and helpful. They are willing to describe anything you don't understand and will fit any dish to your specific needs. that is, if you are vegan, vegetarian, whatever, they will make whatever food you want accordingly and without sacrificing any bit of quality. the menu is very large. In my time going, i have never ordered an unsatisfying dish ( and i have sampled the majority of the menu)
I want to address the complaint about parking. I don't know if you didn't look around, but it's in a city. clearly there isn't going to be a parking lot. That isn't fair to judge a restaurant based on something the city is responsible for. That being said, there is in fact plenty of parking on the streets within a block of Nawab. They are mostly meters, but on weekends i believe they are free, and after 7 i think they are free 9 not a hundred percent sure on timing)
all in all, this is my favorite restaurant. i love the food and the prices are more than reasonable, they cater to all your needs, whether that be a large party, or a quite dinner with friends or family. I know, because i have been there under both circumstances. Never once had a bad experience and will keep going there as much as i possibly can.
BEST INDIAN PLACE.
I don't know what the rest of you are talking about
But i have been a regular for over 6 years go at least two to three times a month.
One of my favorite restaurants in bethlehem. The buffet is quite good. They offer a variety of food and Its only 8 bucks.
Dinner is wonderful too, so many dishes to choose from. I have met the cooks personally who have been the same ever since it opened so food is consistent, which is a plus.
Love the family that owns it, they are wonderful to get to know.
Looking for northern indian food? Nawab is a Fantastic place to go
and the comment below about vegetarians? are you kidding I am a vegetarian they have over 15 vegetarian dishes! and they will make more if you ask. They are a great place for VEGANS and VEGETARIANS thats actually something they pride themselves on. ITs a shame when individuals have their facts wrong.
Great place. Give it a shot and see for yourself
PS garlic naan...yum
Incredible Restaurant. Driving to The Nawab Indian Restaurant was simple for me being resident of Bethlehem. Parking was a bit precarious, but I did enjoy seeing the sights as I walked from a local bar to the restaurant. When I walked into the restaurant I was first greeted by the incredible smells coming all the way from the kitchen and I knew this was going to be a great meal. I was then met by the hostess and we were brought to our seats. The people were anything but “cold”. The waiter was more than happy to help me with my selection, and did an amazing job describing the differences in flavors. I don’t even have the correct words to describe how good the food was, but if I have any advice ask for the food to be extra spicy. Anyone who says the food is less then perfectly spiced obviously has no idea what Indian food is suppose to taste like. I have nothing but good things to say about this restaurant and am very surprised to see all the poor reviews.
Avoid Nawab..Awful hospitality...no courtesy.
As we drove down to this place, we found the parking situation nearby the place was extremely frustrating, When we arrived , were welcomed by unfriendly staff...had to wait to be seated...then we had to wait to order...then we had to wait for drinks...but for food there wass no wait time... looks like it was precooked! The waiter with a colonial hangover was busy entertaining some "selected" customers, obviously didn't feel like checking in on us, or pretty much anything. Once teh maincourse was done.. didn't offer coffee or dessert.! The check arrived without us asking for it. These people were just trying to fool the Non-Indians by mis-using the "INDIA" name, just by serving below average food and keeping some dusty handicrafts...
I wouldn't reccomend tis to anyone
