Horrendous experience. Food was salty
and uninspired, and the waitress was sour. But those things happen. What's worth commenting on is the hostess. I believe she's the owner, so perhaps it's not worth writing about, but boy, was she a nasty, nasty piece of work. I've never written a review, positive or negative, for a single restaurant, but I'm so shocked by her behavior that it's impossible not to say something. Sorry this is long-winded, but the gist is that she scolded my boyfriend's mom (on Mother's Day, no less) b/c our party arrived 13 minutes late for our reservation--a reservation we were told, when we called for it, that we didn't even need.
In any case, the hostess found a table. It took 40 minutes to get the waitress to take our order. At the conclusion of the meal, the hostess approached the table and said that because we had arrived so late she had another party that wanted our table, and could we move to the bar to eat our dessert? She promised to pay for the dessert if we agreed. We said no and canceled the dessert.
We thought the whole thing was odd and weird and told her so as we left. We were polite about it, but she was not. In front of the other customers she sneered at us and yelled.
When I touched her on the arm on my way out and told her she had ruined my boyfriend's mom's Mother's Day, she told me not to touch her and that she planned to call the cops! It was crazy, shocking. We left nearly in tears. What a sick experience.
