The Scene
In warmer months, a delicately lit courtyard filled with white tables and covered by a white canopy, greets you at the end of an alley. Weather permitting, an outer room has its doors flung open for a wall-less dining experience. Interior rooms bustle with a cacophonic crowd.
The Food
Most items are--surprise!--grilled, including the fantastic Caesar salad with white anchovies. Other appetizers also excel. Bagna Cauda (warm anchovy bath) with grilled vegetables for dipping, inspires with the contrast of sweet grilled peaches, also for dipping. Don't miss the Beef Carpaccio with baby arugula, lemon and capers; simply served and perfect. Entrees are less consistent. Though so large and succulent they barely stay on the skewer; Grilled Scallops are without any seasoning and Grilled Lobster is slightly underdone. However, an eager staff is quick to resolve any issues. Grilled Rack of Lamb, served with stone ground mustard sauce and cooked perfectly, is truly superb.
