Out of Business. Went today since we were in the area. All doors locked and a note at the door said "Thanks for your business" and there is a For Sale sign in the front. Easy to see by these comments that they were on the long slide down and out.
save your money. go to red lobster!. Read what Terdec had to say, because nothing has changed here. I was there on 10/11/11 the waitress did not even tell us the specials. The veggies were from a can, and disgusting. I had not been there in a couple of years and should not have gone back, one more thing when the waitress said they were out of yuengling that should have been a flag.
Only if taste isn't important. One of the worst meals I've had in my 10 yrs in the area. They seem to cater to an older crowd what likes their food overcooked and bland. The stuffed flounder was tasteless and the side veggies, califlower, broccoli and carrots were overcooked and totally unseasoned. Out of seafood bisque when I was there. Manhattan chowder had pieces of beef in it and they do not serve draft beer to accompany your meal. A very unfortunate experience.
TheGalley. The Galley is the best Restaurant in the whole Allentown area. I highly reccomend it as an affordabe family restaurant. The food is great and the atmosphere is very pleasnt too.
Sappy Valentine's Day.
The Galley USED TO be a great place, one of the only places I would go for seafood, being originally from Maryland, and knowing good seafood when I taste it...
Im not sure what happened within the last year or two... we went tonight for Valentines Day (with reservations)and waited 40 minutes for our drinks, 50 minutes for salad, and after an hour and a half, we left a few bucks on the table for our weak drinks and left. We were NOT the first to walk out tonight, either ! Worse yet, we saw the manager walking around all night and he NEVER came by to acknowledge or offer an apology, let alone a drink on the house for the inconvenience. In fact, the one time we did see him, he took the drink order from the table next to us and then NEVER brought it !!
We went down the road to Hartmans where a TEENAGE girl named Krysta saved our evening, offering great service and making us actually laugh after our awful experience. The Galley should hire HER if they want to stay in business...
2 nd. best. used to be our favorite place for seafood and drinks before becks land and sea opened. the galley is still a very nice place for an anniversary dinner or romantic date. suggest sitting back in the lounge where the piano is played and it's allways candle lit. crab imperial is unbelievable.
